Medicity’s product interfaces with Providence’s disparate systems to provide a consolidated view of patient information to over 850 physicians and clinicians.

Salt Lake City, UT and Burbank, CA, April 27, 2006— Medicity, Inc. and Providence Health System’s Southern California Service Area today announced the successful deployment of Medicity’s Physician Portal at Providence Saint Joseph and Providence Holy Cross Medical Centers. Providence Health System is a multi-facility integrated delivery network. Medicity is a leading provider of clinical connectivity and web-based electronic health records. This is the first clinical solution deployed by Medicity since it acquired the iServices Division of Park City Solutions.

Medicity’s KLAS ranked Physician Portal efficiently interfaces Providence’s disparate clinical and administrative systems to provide a single view into all relevant clinical information for more than 850 physicians and clinicians. “The successful launch of Medicity’s Physician Portal, which we branded ’ProvCare,‘ is allowing physicians and other clinical users in our Southern California Service Area to easily connect and improve the way they practice medicine,” says Brad Osborne, regional chief information officer at Providence Health System. “The winning combination of Medicity’s technology and our strategy to use physician liaisons to promote ProvCare and educate physicians has accelerated utilization of the ProvCare Portal within weeks after its release to general users. We are very pleased with ProvCare’s roll-out.”

The Medicity Physician Portal is also being installed at Providence’s Little Company of Mary Hospitals in Torrance and San Pedro, California. Some of the benefits and features of ProvCare include:

  • A comprehensive solution that enables physicians to access patient information from the hospital, the office, home, or from any internet-connected computer
  • A consolidated view of patient information from disparate systems
  • Web access to diagnostic images with associated written interpretations
  • Secure messaging for physicians
  • Tailored application views, reflecting physician preferences that meet unique practice workflow
  • A system that insulates users from back-end systems changes
