Combined company now serves more than 1200 healthcare organizations, delivers clinical connectivity, Web-based EHRs

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, February 8, 2006 - Medicity Inc., a provider of clinical connectivity and Web-based electronic health records (EHRs) for healthcare organizations and connected communities, today announced the acquisition of Park City Solutions’ iServices Group. The combined organizations, which will operate under the name Medicity, will continue to sell and support all products offered by both companies.

The new Medicity is the largest vendor-neutral integration partner in the industry, delivering solutions that provide connectivity, Web-based portal solutions, EHRs, and community-wide indexing solutions for hospitals, payors and large physician groups. The company is also positioned to be the premier provider of end-to-end technology solutions for the growing RHIO/HIE market.

Medicity now serves more than 1200 healthcare organizations including hospitals, large physician groups, national payors and clinical laboratories. The company’s products and services include:

  • Portals for the consumer, employee, patient, and physician
  • Web-based electronic health record
  • Master indexing for patients, providers, and payors
  • Web-based data distribution and EMR integration with proven integration to several of the largest ambulatory EMR suppliers.
  • Community order portals
  • End-to-end community information sharing networks (RHIO/HIE)
  • Strategic e-health consulting

Medicity and Park City Solutions were both launched in 1999. Medicity has focused on large-scale clients and managing complex integration problems in the healthcare market space and is the recipient of the Henry Ford HITS Award. Park City Solutions has focused on the portal needs of hospitals and was recently distinguished as the only non-core HIS vendor to qualify for the main body of the first KLAS Physician/Clinician Portal Study released in September, 2005. Medicity is privately held and profitable, with a strong balance sheet, positive cash flow from operations, and nearly 100 total employees who collectively own more than two-thirds of the company.

The new Medicity will be led by Kipp Lassetter, M.D., as Chairman and CEO, with corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. Additional offices are located in Chicago, Cleveland, Ohio and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Brent Dover and David Duntz from Park City Solutions will join the Medicity executive leadership team. All Park City Solutions iServices Group employees will continue employment with Medicity.

Lassetter comments, “With this new combination of talent and product, Medicity is twice as smart, twice as big, and twice as experienced. All of our existing customers and future customers will benefit from this transaction. Our relationships with our current clients are the single greatest asset of the combined companies and we are in an excellent position to support them with a deeper bench of talent, a broader range of products and improved economies of scale. We look forward to strengthening our relationships with all of our clients in the years ahead as we continue to develop innovative ways to provide access to critical information from diverse locations creating a unified view of actionable patient data. ”
