SALT LAKE CITY, UT and LOS ANGELES, CA, January 15, 2004 - St. Francis Hospital, Los Angeles’ busiest private trauma center, is collaborating with Medicity, Inc., to deploy a physician portal solution that will integrate data from disparate legacy systems into a single, user-friendly interface.

“The ProAccess system allows St. Francis to easily tailor decision support so that it provides maximum value to the physician and the patient receiving care,” said David Coyle, President and cofounder of Medicity. “The goal is to equip physicians with the tools to make informed decisions at the bedside. Results review is now streamlined and standardized, with real-time data access, enabling physicians to provide patient care in a more efficient, effective, and safe manner.”

The implementation of Medicity’s ProAccess physician portal will simplify workflow for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, with all patient data easily accessible in a unified patient view. Using Medicity’s interface management tools, St. Francis will deploy an integrated IT system that will enable clinicians to securely access medical records anywhere in the world.

St. Francis Hospital provides patient-centered, economical health services with a special concern for the sick poor and their families. St. Francis operates a 384-bed acute care hospital, six community-based health clinics, and the largest and busiest private emergency trauma center in Los Angeles County.
